The WASCAL Masters Research Programme 2024 is currently accepting applications from appropriately qualified candidates. This fully funded postgraduate scholarship program is intended to support graduate students of West African descent and will be offered to Germany and other West African nations.
The scholarship is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) of Germany and the 12 West African member countries. Scholars enjoy fully funded programme from some of the finest universities in West Africa and exposure to some Germany’s top universities.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the WASCAL Master’s Research Programme 2024, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be admitted to study an eligible master’s programme at the participating universities for the 2024/2025 academic session.
- Applicants must have obtained relevant bachelor’s degree from recognized institutions of higher learning.
- Applicants must be citizens of the West African member countries.
- Applicants must demonstrate excellent academic and research abilities.

Scholarship Benefits
WASCAL will grant scholarships to selected students in the Master Research programme in
Informatics for Climate Change. The scholarship is extended every year after successful
completion of the study programme.
The scholarship includes:
- Monthly stipend
- accommodation
- payment of university fees
- research budget
- a personal laptop computer on loan for the duration of the programme
- living expenses for the period of studies

Interested applicants for the Fully Funded WASCAL Masters Scholarship 2024 are to complete and online application in either Informatics for Climate Change Programme or Climate Change and Marine Science Programme on or before the application deadline.
