The University of Aberdeen is pleased to accept applications from qualified international students for a PhD Philosophy Scholarship. This scholarship is for a study on Digital Knowledge: A New Framework for Digital Epistemic Virtues.
This prestigious scholarship is open to students from all over the world and includes a full tuition fee remission as well as a stipend of £6,000 each year. This scholarship will be awarded for three years if development is good.
We are increasingly in the grip of an information epidemic, which has been highlighted tragically by the proliferation of health disinformation online and increased skepticism of authorities.
The project will use latest tools of social epistemology and virtue epistemology techniques to reframe our concept of online inquiry and information sharing, better identify the causes of online epistemic risk, and better teach ourselves to handle them skillfully.
