Fully Funded Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships 2022

The 2022–2023 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships, which are fully financed, are now accepting applications from deserving postgraduate students worldwide. Academic Excellence, Research Potential, and Leadership are the three equally weighted selection criteria for this three-year, $50,000 per awardee fellowship during PhD study.

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program was established by the Canadian government in 2008 with the goal of enhancing Canada’s capacity to draw in and keep top-tier doctoral students and to position the country as a global hub of excellence in research and higher education. In graduate study in the social sciences and humanities, the natural sciences and/or engineering, or the health sciences, Vanier Scholars exhibit leadership abilities and a high degree of academic success.

How to Apply | Fully Funded Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships 2022/2023

Interested applicants for the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships 2022/23 are to note that scholarships usually will follow a nominating process. Candidates must be nominated by a Canadian institution with a quota (i.e., a predetermined number of applications that can be put forward to the national competition) to host Vanier scholars. Application Timelines:

July – November 2022: Applicants seek a nominating institution, prepare and submitapplication package.

Internal Deadline (varies): Deadline to submit application to the nominating institution. Contact nominating institution for specific date.

November 2, 2022 (20:00 EST): Deadline for institutions to submit nominations to the Vanier CGS program.

November 2022 – March 2023: Review and evaluation of nominations.

Early April 2023: Anticipated notification of results. Nominees will be notified by email when the results are available on ResearchNet.

May 1, 2023, September 1, 2023 or January 1, 2024: Payments begin.
