The Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) provides students with scholarships, mentorship, and access to the ETH Foundation’s network. The scholarship covers all study and living expenses for the Master’s degree course.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarships in Switzerland, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must have a very good result in Bachelor’s degree programme (top 10% of Bachelor’s degree programme).
- Applicants must demonstrate excellent research abilities.
- Applicants must be willing to abide by the rules governing the conduct of students at ETH Zurich.
- Applicants must not have already hold a master degree.

How to Apply for ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarships
Interested applicants for the ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarships 2025 are to ensure that they submit their application within the first application window. Applicants will be required to upload a pre-proposal document for their master thesis in addition to the documents for the master’s admission.
Applicants must note that the pre-proposal for the Master’s thesis must be developed by them and use established scientific citation practice. Plagiarism, negligent or intentional misinformation will lead to exclusion from the admission process or – if discovered later – to the revocation of the admission and of any scholarship.
