The Colombia Foreign Scholarship 2025/2026 application period is currently open.

This program is aimed at foreigners wishing to pursue master’s studies in Colombia. This program is aimed at foreigners who wish to pursue their postgraduate studies in Colombia, as well as at foreigners from non-Spanish-speaking countries who need to strengthen the Spanish language to carry out postgraduate studies in Colombia.

ICETEX, as an institution of the Colombian state that promotes higher education through granting educational credits and international cooperation scholarships to the population with lower economic possibilities and with good academic performance, oversees granting economic aid to foreign citizens within the framework of the Strategy of Reciprocity for Foreigners and its program, Beca Colombia.

Eligibility Criteria | Colombia Foreign Scholarship

To be eligible for the Colombia Foreign Scholarship for International Students, applicants are expected to meet the following conditions:

• Not have Colombian nationality.
• Applicants must be foreign citizens.
• Not be residing, nor have resided the last 6 months prior to applying for the scholarship, in Colombian territory or have started studies in Colombia at the time of application to the corresponding call.
• Must not have any marital or de facto relationship in Colombia.
• Not having been a beneficiary of ICETEX through the Beca Colombia program.
• Not be older than 50 years.
• Have a cumulative general average of 4.0 out of 5.0 in undergraduate to apply to the call. According to the
  grading scale of each country, the note must be equivalent to a minimum of 4.0 for the Colombian scale.
• Have a professional, undergraduate, or graduate degree in any area of knowledge.
• Have admission to at least between one to three postgraduate programs found in the Academic Offer
  Catalog 2025-2 is attached to this announcement.
• Have good physical and mental health, certified by a doctor.

Scholarship Benefits

• The Higher Education Institutions will offer 100% of the tuition fee for the duration of the academic program
• Medical and hospital assistance in Colombia that includes repatriation in case of disability or death.
• ICETEX will support each foreign scholarship recipient with a monthly stipend of three minimum wages

How to Apply for Colombia Foreign Scholarship

The application conditions of the program and its annexes, the “ACADEMIC OFFER CATALOGUE 2025-2”, as well as the requirements published in the application platform, constitute a single unit.

The applicant guarantees with his/her application the legitimacy, validity, and veracity of the information provided for the granting of the scholarship. However, ICETEX reserves the right to verify the documents and information provided in the application.

If it is verified that there are inconsistencies or alterations in the documents provided by the applicant, the application will be immediately rejected and the application will be discarded. The ICETEX International Portfolio Committee, based on the documentation submitted by the applicants and based on the requirements, will approve or not the selection of the applicants.
